I got back at 7 this morning and had a good time despite the weather, mashalled at St. Ninians on Friday.

It was good to see the old dog Rutter back on the top step, Peter Hickman has really emerged as a threat to the dominance of the usual lot, Hillier and Harrison had strong performances too and Josh Brookes had a great week after two years away and still really doing his apprenticeship around the course, a shame about Hutchy as he was having a good race after two wins earlier in the week but what can you say about Michael Dunlop, another 2 wins and taking the new Suzuki to the top step adding to previous TT wins he's achieved on Honda, BMW, Yamaha and Kawasaki machinery. The Suzuki could well be the bike to beat over the next couple of years as they didn't have a lot of time to set that bike up and still managed to win a TT first time out.

The Birchall brothers were untouchable in the sidecar races upping the lap record to 117mph, what did strike me during the second sidecar race on Friday is how much louder the Birchall outfit was compared to everyone else, must be tuned to the bollocks.

Interesting pic doing the rounds of Hutchy's deflated and deformed front tyre from prior to the accident.

Was there talk of it at the IoM Ant?

No I didn't realise there was a tyre issue until I came home, at the time we just assumed it was rider error or maybe even a gust of wind as it was very windy on Senior day.

Be sad if there is, as he just switched brands for this year...

Tracked the pic down which I first saw on Facebook so have posted up the latter image with a further explanation where it mentions that the wheel failed and was not a rider issue/error (that is from Dunlop so vested interest may be in play)

One thing I didn't enjoy this year was the medias "Dunlop v Hutchy" hype, as if trying to build a big WWE type rivalry, the sport doesn't need that. Yes it's apparent that the pair do not like each other but just leave it at that, rather than trying to introduce more animosity with things like the TT programme covers(you could buy either a Hutchy one or a Dunlop one), now I'm a Dunlop fan though I don't mind Hutchy but one thing I would have loved at this years TT would have been for Hickman or Harrison or Hillier to take the limelight from them after all this hype. There's more than just those two out on the track, how good would it have been if Bruce Anstey had one of those days where the stars align and he came out of hibernation and monstered them like he's done several times in the past?
