The tri-color flag of Ireland pictured above was based on that of France and first used in 1848. The green represents the Catholic, Gaelic and Anglo-Norman communities, the <span style="color:#FF6600orange represents the planter group of Northern Ireland while the white center signifies a hope of peace and trust between the two.

I guess they should make an IQ requirement to use this site.
The above is from your country's description of your flag.
Now, I can come up with some creative insults like you have done, but really, I think you've shown everybody lucky enough to read this thread what an ass you've made of yourself without my help.

"Article 7 of "Bunreacht na hEireann" ( constitution of Ireland) states "The National Flag is the Tricolour of Green, White and Orange." This flag didn't come into general usage until the war of independance (1919-1921). Prior to this, the green flag with gold harp was the main symbol of nationalism. Indeed this flag flew over the G.P.O during the 1916 Rising. There have been many prior attempts to initiate a national flag. Green and Orange horizontal stripes had been used by some as early as the 18th century. But only at the creation of the first "Dail" ( House of Representatives / Commons) did the current Tricolour become widely used.

There is some debate as to the true colours of the flag. The usual symbolism is the green stands for the Catholics, the orange for the Protestants and white for peace between them. Some say that the flag is gold as opposed to orange, from the gold harp on the original Green Flag.

This confusion arose in the 1916-22 period when the tricolour (the current national flag and ensign), which had previously been quite a marginal and little-known flag, was supplanting the Green Flag (the current jack) as the principal national emblem. Green and gold, the colours of the Green Flag, were regarded as the national colours throughout the nineteenth century and some of the home-made tricolours from the 1916-22 period were in fact green, white and gold. There are also some songs from that period which refer to 'green, white and gold' flags and this helped to keep the concept alive, but the symbolism of the green, white and orange dates from 1848."

i am one of those that say the flag is gold, are your done trying to belittle me

That is because you are confused!

orange standing for Irish Protestants
green signifying Irish Catholics and the republican cause
white representing the hope for peace between them

Why Orange?

The color orange is associated with Northern Irish Protestants because of William of Orange (William III), the King of England, Scotland, and Ireland who in 1690 defeated the deposed King James II, a Roman Catholic, in the fateful Battle of the Boyne near Dublin. William III's victory secured Protestant dominance over the island, to the enormous benefit of the 17th-century colonizers of northern Ireland the English (mainly Anglicans) and Scots (mostly Presbyterians). Sometimes called Orangemen, Protestants in Northern Ireland celebrate the anniversary of the battle each July 12th.

we should have started our own threat for this

i know what the colours stand for

as stated in my last post we down the south like to keep the gold because in our original flag we had a gold harp and rather have an association with the orange men we have gold on our flags

Count the number of insults you threw that I ignored. You belittled yourself by trying to tease another guy from making an honest mistake, then you showed the world that you yourself don't know what you are talking about, so you came up with some obscure explanation. Your fucken flag has orange not gold in it. Don't go trying to school people if you haven't done your homework.

Fine you like to hold on to some old tradition, that's ok, but the flag is ORANGE! If you want to call it another imaginary color that's your thing. But the world recognizes the tri-color as ORANGE!

the flag it a perfect green, white and gold on my monitor

Perhaps you should adjust the colors on your monitor, because it looks like ORANGE TO ME!

Its so fucking ORANGE that it even looks Redish, that's why Povol thought it was Italian. Honest mistake, but your mistake is total poetic justice for somebody trying to kick knowledge but showing his ass/arse.

Looked Green,White and Red on my screen. My bad

Raven, you should have just done the honest thing like Povol here and just admitted your mistake. This way I wouldn't have had to drag you through the mud and shit you created when you pissed and crapped all over yourself.

go for the throat of what exactly an enemy you can see only in your head

That might be the most uninformed comment made by an educated human in the last 20 years. What your saying is terrorism is a figment of everybodies imagination. There is no fanatical Islam,9-11 never took place, the subway bombing in the UK never happened, nor did the Bali bombing. There are millions of dead Africans that would probably tell you that your full of shit right about now. That imaginary enemy that is hellbent on exterminating anything not Muslim,is very real to them.

TALK ABOUT MINDLESS

What is your next claim,Jews didnt die in Germany?

For fucks sake. This topic is about Dakar, not some political arguements that have no bearing on the topic, if you want an anti-American or anti-Europe rant, then take it somewhere else.
