The Sad state of AMA racing

It is quite sad at what the AMA roadracing series has become. I attended the Daytona 200 from 1992 until 2003.. I loved AMA racing.

Then it changed horribly.. Duhamel couldn't find a ride? Really?
Mladin left ...and so many other talented riders couldn't find rides or couldn't make enough money racing to continue racing.
I couldn't even tell you who is racing besides Josh Hayes

Just depressed about the entire thing...Rant off

Top it off with no air play for WSBK

At least we still have MotoGP

I will tell you how sad it is. We crowned a champion yesterday and it might as well have been for tiddlywinks. Not one mention . Congrats Cameron on your second straight title, that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee. Went into the last race with commanding lead and his fucking bike quit. He sat track side where it quit hoping enough riders would beat his teammate or else he would have lost the crown. Elias and Hayden saved his ass, which is ironic, because Elias saved a Hayden's ass 10 years ago

Its the dealers, the AMA has always been paired with American motorcycle dealers and their associations, as well as suppliers. Sport bike prices started to rise in the early 2000s , sales declined, so focus shifted away from road racing.

The same organization runs the Supercross series, and they do a good job with it, but look at what dealers are selling these days a lot of off road bikes.

And to add to the sentiments, we are enjoying some of the best coverage ever. BeIN has don a fantastic praise worthy job. The racing itself has been exciting and entertaining throughout all the classes. Elias has revitalized the series, and the championship literally came down to the wire.

I feel like it is on life support. I fear that it is on life support.

Congrats to Cameron and Gerloff.

(btw, RIP CBR600R)

I would not be in the slightest bit surprised to see Beaubier make a return to the GP paddock - In the absence of American interest, I think he's coveted by DORNA.

The same thing happened in Australia but far far worse, the state of ASBK now is a joke. The size of the field has shrivelled up and the events feel like a local club day race rather than a national championship.

Any riders who come through the series that show any real promise leave immediately for either a BSB or AMA ride. There is no future in staying in the ASBK series so who can blame them.
